Fading Anatomies 2004

Fernando Botero award 2008
Series analogue of six photos 180cm X 80cm

Since I was a child I had to face strong experiences that were related with death and illnesses. These memories created a special interest due to the idea of the human condition, how must we live with the idea of uncertainty and inevitable loss of the people we love and even our selves at times? The series Fading Anatomies pretends to reflect about the constant change and losing of the human body and the fragility of his constitution. These photos were made with analog photomontage mixing tree bark and the anatomies of teenagers. The process made juxtapositions of two negatives over the same print. The use of this technique tried to make an analogy between photography and the human body sine both have the peculiarity of fading through the time.
